Personality: Though his parents were more often found showing their stuff in the show ring, Buran encompasses the drive and passion of a real working dog. He is spirited and energetic, with boundless stamina and a real love for working - if he's not doing something productive, he's going to let you know right away that this is the case and he would like it to change. He's equally motivated by praise and play, though oddly not so much by food - he's quite the picky eater and seems to strictly prefer poultry-based foods above all others. He's easy to get worked up and is always in "ready to party" mode; all it takes is a few excited words or a toss of the rope and he's bouncing around with excitement. While he can be a little overly mouthy around small animals and kids, it's due to his enthusiasm as opposed to desire to hunt; he gets along well with our older sable male Jack and the two are often found playing rough-and-tumble with each other and getting in everyone else's way. Buran does very well in the activities we've tried him in, with a very nimble and quick approach in Schutzhund (not quite as heavy-hitting as our star Judas but equally as enthusiastic) that has suited him well in agility - he really soars over the jumps. We're also working on obedience and competitive heeling, though it's a challenge for him to focus while still in one place and not zooming around. We have confidence that as he ages and gains a bit more self-control he'll be an excellent competitor.
