Personality: A handsome but intimidating horse, Ribs is certainly no easy horse for a beginner despite his curb appeal. Bought from a stable that couldn't quite handle his temperament, he's settled in well at our stables and is beginning to come around with a lot of very, very patient training and socialization. He's got quite a short temper and definitely likes to test his riders with balking and nips and general misbehavior. It usually takes quite a vigorous warm-up to burn off his top layer of energy before he's ready to consider cooperating, and even then he's quick to take advantage if your attention drifts off for a second. However most of the time he does eventually settle down and focus and has proven himself to be very adept at cutting cattle, with a natural agility and tenacity that suits him well for the sport. He's both light-footed and fearless, which comes in handy when working with livestock. Outside of the saddle, he's generally a finicky but decent enough horse - he does certainly demand attention and seems to have an affinity for the watermelons we give our horses on hot summer days. He doesn't quite get along with the other resident animals - he's gotten into quite a few shouting matches with the dogs and absolutely hates our stallion Glory - but he seems to have an oddly high tolerance for the barnyard cats and will never say no to a nice scratch on the shoulder (he'll let you know when he's had enough, thank you).

Breeding Status: Open
Be sure to read our breeding rules completely before requesting a litter.
(Please note that at this time there is no compelling evidence that brindle in horses is hereditary. It is thought to be either the result of chimerism, a mutation of the "sooty" gene, or some other as-of-yet unspecified genetic anomaly. Therefore we will not be designing brindle foals out of this horse.)
